Claims & Rebates

Can I use my private health Insurance?

Providing accessible and effective care to all of our patients is our top priority. Many podiatry treatments are claimable for those with private health insurance (with relevant extra covers). In order to do the same day claiming, please remember to bring your private health insurance card to your appointment. Your podiatrist will be able to manage your private health insurance balance, claims and payments easily. On the spot claiming will significantly reduce your out of pocket expense. Clear Nail Laser Clinics and its podiatrists are affiliated with registered private health insurance companies including NIB, AAMI, Bupa, Australian Unity and Medibank.

Is there private health rebates for Cold Laser Treatment for fungal nails?

Yes, private health will cover both the consultation 014 and the laser therapy 145. We will discuss this with you at your initial assessment appointment.

Do I need a referral to see a podiatrist?

A referral provides us with a basic summary of the concern, results obtained to date, as well as any specific requests. We can provide a tailored care plan and liaise closely with your preferred doctor. However, a referral from a doctor is not necessary

Can I claim through Medicare?

There is a government funding initiative which is aimed at supporting those who have one or more chronic medical conditions. A chronic medical condition is one that persists for a period longer than 3 months. The Medicare CDM Program allows for a total of up to five (5) rebated consults to any referred allied health practitioner, per year. This can include podiatry. Ask your GP if you are eligible for a CDM plan today and they will be able to process this referral to our clinic.

  • To be eligible for a CDM plan you’ll need to have a chronic medical condition
  • Your GP will be in charge of putting together the referral process
  • You can get a $54.60 rebate for up to five (5) visits per year.
